Chairman of the Management Board of N. Nazarbayev Center B. Sarsenbayev met with Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of St. Mary in Astana Tomash Peta

On August 6 of this year, the Commissioner for promoting the goals and objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Chairman of the Management Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue, Bulat Sarsenbayev, met with Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of St. Mary in Astana Tomash Peta.

During the meeting B. Sarsenbayev, presented Archbishop invitation to attend the next session of the XIX Secretariat of the Congress, which will take place on October 6, 2021 in the city of Nur Sultan.

«I am convinced that your personal participation in the XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will further promote the common cause aimed at developing a dialogue between religions and cultures, strengthening mutual understanding and stability at the global level», - said the Head of N. Nazarbayev Center.

In addition, Bulat Sarsenbayev noted the role of the spiritual leaders of the Catholic Church of Kazakhstan, who are an important link in ensuring interfaith harmony for 29 years – from the date of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Vatican.

In turn, Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of St. Mary in Astana Tomash Peta, expressing gratitude for the invitation, confirmed his intention to take part in the XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress, and also stressed that the religious forum convened at the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. Nazarbayev is an effective and unique dialogue platform all over the world.

At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Managemnet Board of N. Nazarbayev Center, Bulat Sarsenbayev, invited Archbishop Tomash Peta to take part in a series of round tables that will be organized as part of the preparatory work for the XIX meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress and as a result, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of 13 diplomatic missions abroad.
