N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue signed a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation with the Institute of Foreign Policy Research under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Today, on June 1 of this year, the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev signed a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation with the Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Nurgaliev.

The purpose of the memorandum is the establishment and development of cooperation in the implementation of joint research and information and analytical activities on interreligious and intercivilizational relations.

The parties, based on common values, intend to carry out joint information and explanatory work with the foreign expert community and non-governmental organizations on topical issues of religion.

In particular, the memorandum provides for joint activities: organization of round tables, symposia, discussion platforms aimed at promoting interreligious, interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue, training seminars to improve the qualifications of specialists, exchange professional experience, analytical materials, providing mutual advisory work and other issues of mutual interest.

Noting the importance of signing a memorandum of cooperation between organizations, the Head of the Center Bulat Sarsenbayev emphasized the growing role of the religious community in the world, the importance of developing research projects in the field of interfaith relations.

«To coordinate efforts to study current trends in the field of interreligious and intercivilizational relations in the world, it is important to strengthen bilateral interaction, promptly exchange information and share professional experience,» said Bulat Sarsenbayev.

In addition, the Chairman of the Board of the Center Nursultan Nazarbayev informed the head of the Institute for Foreign Policy Research about the holding of the 19th meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress and the Working Group this year, events timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence, as well as about preparations for the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will take place in 2022.

Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Foreign Policy Research Bulat Nurgaliev, for his part, expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support in the implementation of joint events and projects.
