Prospects of mutual cooperation were discussed by the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center Bulat Sarsenbayev and the head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty Nurlan Kikimov

Today, on May 14, the Chairman of the Board of the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue Bulat Sarsenbayev during his working trip to Almaty met with the head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty Nurlan Kikimov.
Exchanging congratulations on the Oraza Ait holiday, the parties discussed the religious situation in the country and the prospects for mutual cooperation to promote intercivilizational values ​​and interreligious dialogue.
Bulat Sarsenbayev, speaking about the mission of the Center in establishing interreligious and interfaith peace and harmony, shared plans for organizing international events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan Independence. At the same time, the Head of the Center spoke in detail about the ongoing work of the Institute for Analysis of the Religious Situation and Religious Expertise, created on the basis of the Center. Today, the Institute is engaged in monitoring the religious situation in the republic, scientific research in the field of state-confessional relations, including the conduct of religious expertise.

In addition, one of the important topics of the meeting was the discussion of the upcoming 19th meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in the current year, as well as the next VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in 2022, which received international recognition and became an important element of the global intercivilizational dialogue.
In turn, Nurlan Kakimov expressed support for further cooperation between the Center and the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty, in order to prepare for the upcoming events, both at the republican and international levels.
The parties agreed on the organization of joint events aimed at preserving interreligious harmony, mutual support in the implementation of information and explanatory work.
Following the meeting, Bulat Sarsenbayev invited the head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Almaty Nurlan Kikimov to take part in the opening of the international photo exhibition «Islam and humanity: yesterday, today, tomorrow», which will be held on May 17 this year at the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as in the upcoming international online conference «Neighborliness of cultures in the XXI century of Central Asia», held by the N. Nazarbayev Center on May 20 this year.
