On March 13-14, 2021 in the city of Cairo (Egypt), the 31st session of the International conference of the High council of Islam "Dialogue of religions and cultures" was held. As part of the work of the conference in the Egyptian capital, representatives of various states working in the field of religion discussed the pressing issues of developing interreligious, intercultural dialogue and spirituality against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bulat Sarsenbayev, Chairman of the Board of N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Intercivilization Dialogue, took part in the International Conference on the invitation of the Egyptian side.
In his speech at the conference Bulat Sarsenbayev noted that Kazakhstan is an active supporter of the implementation of preventive measures to prevent crises, especially in the spiritual and religious sphere. He especially emphasized the role of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the development of effective strategy of peace and harmony between confessions and nations. Thus, Bulat Sarsenbayev spoke in detail about the preparations for the XIX Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in 2021 as well as the organization of the next VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in Nur-Sultan in 2022.
The representatives of the Egyptian side commended the role of Kazakhstan in the international arena, as well as the great contribution of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev in the promotion of a global dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations. At the same time they expressed the intention to participate in the forthcoming Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions in Nur-Sultan in 2022.
At the same time the head of Nursultan Nazarbayev Center held meetings with the Supreme Mufti of Egypt Shawki Allam as well as other potential participants of the forthcoming Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Nur-Sultan.
In addition, Bulat Sarsenbayev took part in a meeting with Kazakh students studying at Islamic educational institutions in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
